RDTC-65 Season Review of David Cuthill

Posted by Andreas Hultgren on TBR|

As he did in RaceDeparment.com’s first season, David Cuthill ran the second season aswell. 100K races with one mandatory pitstop was the deal. David drove a Lotus Cortina and the first race was at Donington Park.

After qualifying 10th he soon was up to 7th but after a misserable pitstop he was soon at the back of the pack. Although he claimed back into the points to 8th he would eventually end up in the barrier to score a DNF. Second race was held in France on the Dijon-Prenoise circuit. After a hectic day DC went for a gentleman drive to bring it home safely in 11th.

Round 3 at Hockeheim would see DC scoring his first point of the season as he would be classified 8th. The race was according to him self really bad and he said that he was not deserved of a top 10 finish as he crossed the line in 9th. However, luck was on his side as a disqualification infront of him promoted him to his first point.

After scoring a P10 in Knutsorp, round 4, DC would not be able to participate in the following round at Monza. He was however back behind the wheels of his Lotus at Symmons Plains for round 6. This would become his best race of the season as he finish 6th and grabbed three points adding to his lone point from earlier on.

Turagua was the place of round 7. After a somewhat dissapointing qualifying DC only managed 10th on day where he lacked the speed he had during practice. The lost speed was back in the final round of the championship though as the drivers headed to the US and Watkins Glen. DC was really on the case this time but after a coming together in the mid part of the race he had to settle for 7th.

After scoring a total of 6 points David finished in 13th position in the standings. Peter Gog won on 52 points as Jerome Benard finshed 2nd and Warren Dawes 3rd.
