RDHGP S6 – Review Kyalami
By Andreas Löffler on TBR|Before next week round 7 in japanese Sugo we are looking back to the round 6 in Kyalami (MEX)
TBR driver Gregory Degreef in the Capri took pole position with more then a half second to championchip leader Gary Lennon. Next TBR´s started from 3rd (Andreas Löffler, 911s), 8th (Ryan Callan, Pantera) and 15th (David Cuthill, Pantera). Unfortunatly regular 5th TBR driver Ivo Simons couldn´t be there this round.
The race went very well for Greg, after holding P1 at start nobody could catch him to a domination win. A phantastic start from Ryan let him went up from 8th to 2nd in first lap. At the end he only had let pass Gary Lennon and Andreas Löffler in the Porsche 911s and finished in a fine 4th place. Over the whole race Andreas Löffler had to defend P2 to Gary Lennon. The duel peaked in the last lap where they had a contact each other. Finally Gary showed very fair driving and Andreas could made the 1,2 for TBR perfect. Unfortunatly David Cuthill couldn´t finish the race but still in the points on 19th.
With this great result Gregory climb on 4th in standings with two missed races. Andreas went back to P2 after the disappointing race in Birubi Southern Cross. Ryan did his best result of the season after joining TBR. Before, three dnf´s in a row and one missed race avoid a much better result in the standings. With the missing race now, Ivo lost the touch to the top but still ranked in the top 5. David ranked on P24 after another disappointing race, hopefully he can show his potential, like Ryan here, next round in Japan.
Drivers standings after round 6:
1. Gary Lennon 130p
2. Andreas Löffler 109p
3 . Ralf Eiden 104p
4. Gregory Degreef 90p
5. Ivo Simons 89p
21. Ryan Callan 19p
24. David Cuthill 17p
