History

The Black Rebels was founded in early summer of 2007 by David García and Ben Buitendijk to compete in the GTR2 NGT League hosted by RPM (Roaring Pipes Maniacs). The team run under the name Costa Olanda using Porsche RSR’s. They decided to expand their team by creating sub-teams called The Black Rebels and the team started to grow rapidly. At the end of the league there were no more then three TBR teams alongside the Costa Olanda team with driver from all over Europe. After several poduim finishes and a win by young german driver Kevin Ascher the final results was considered a success.

By the time the league ended RPM decided to move their Racing Department to RSC (RaceSimCentral) and with that decision, TBR decided to make their own site with forum etc. The work started and by the time the website was ready it was time for the teams first league as one big team: the RSC Mini Cooper League.

With well over 100 signups for this league it would become the biggest challange yet for the team but with the talent and determination of the drivers the results kept strong with constantly good races in the top two groups and a fight for the second place in the unofficial team standings with Team GG and Blue Flag Racing ani n the end losing out to Team GG. Third place was a good result. In the drivers championship it was as good if not even better then in the teams championship with eigth drivers in top 30 with Mehmet Arslan taking 4th and David García 5th.

During the end of the Mini Cooper League and during the preparations for the upcoming WTCC League different drivers from the team races in some smaller leagues with mixed results but in the end good with Dave Nicol as the teams best overall finisher in the RSC BMW M3 League, 15th, and with David Cuthill the only rebel competing in the RSC FIA-TC-65 League with a 13th place.
