History

How it all begun

The Black Rebels with headquarters at Spain was founded in early summer of 2007 by David García and Ben Buitendijk to compete in the GTR2 NGT League hosted by RPM (Roaring Pipes Maniacs). The team ran under the name Costa Olanda using Porsche RSR’s. David and Ben decided to expand their team by creating sub-teams called The Black Rebels and the team started to grow rapidly. At the end of the league there were no more then three TBR teams alongside the Costa Olanda team with drivers from all over Europe. After several poduim finishes and a win by young german driver Kevin Ascher the final result was considered a success. Since then the team has been in numerous leagues, mainly at RaceDeopartment.com, with lots of good results.

Simracing Team Challenge

After competing in various leagues for a year and a half David and Xosé Estrada decided to create their own league, a league that was unique, a league focusing on the performance of the teams instead of the individual driver. After testing the format together with Blue Flag Racing as part of the build up for an upcoming touringcar league it stood clear that this was something to continue with. That was the start of Simracing Team Challenge.

The league has during its first two years become one of the best orginized team leagues in Europe with broadcasts of high quality and drivers such as V-WTCC champion Roland Ehnström, Vincent Staal, David Greco and the Haba-brothers. A total of 20 teams have participated the last four seasons and it has been won by Roaring Pipes Maniacs, DHR SimCraft (twice) and Danielsson Motorsport Virtual.

TBR Team Championship

As part of an attempt to get the team even tighter and having scheduled race meatings team member Andreas Hultgren started the teams own championship in 2008. It all went well and is now on its third season. The first two years used the FBMW and saw Andreas take the first title with Mikael Hellén taking the second one. For 2010 the FBMW got sacked in favour for the Mini Cooper to grant even closer racing and more people joining and so far it has worked.

The Garage

In the Garage section on this site you can see most of the cars that the team have used in the past, from the very beginning to the more recent racers.
