STC: Consistency the Key to Donington

By Ivo Simons on TBR|

Consistency paid off for the Rebels at Donington Park

Mikael Hellen and Gregory Degreef where to drivers on the tough track for the Corvette.

Gregory qualified 8th where Mikael ended up 12th. But where both far of their PB but that can happen with Superpole.

Both started very clean and got some places because of other peoples troubles. Only Mikael was unlucky after some laps. While he drove away from to cars behind him. Those cars battled it out but where involved in crash and cutted the chicane and collected Mikael. Wich some damage and on place 16th Mikael continued with for the rest a very consistent race wich would bring him to place 10 at the end.

Gregory battled the whole race with 4 guys from 4th to 7th. But was also very consistent like Mikael and could bring the car home on place 6th.

Both cars in the top 10 where other teams failed to do so. This is way TBR is closing in on the number 2 in the standings and pulling away from 4th place. Next race is at Spa with Andreas Loffler and Wietse Visser behind the wheel of the Green Corvette.

STC: TBR scores podium at Trois Riveres

By Andreas Hultgren on TBR|

The team had a great race when STC headed to Trois Riveres and its twisty street track. Nothing could be done against RPM’s Dragos Haba nor DMSv’s Roland Ehnström but David Greco made it over the lineas the last car on the lead lap in 3rd to bring the teams first podium of the season.

If that was not enough Gregory Degreef made it home in 7th which made the team strenghten its 3rd place in the standings.

FPWS: Round 7 Silverstone

By Ivo Simons on TBR|

Another good Results for the Rebels

Pro:

The Qualification was not the best of the season for the drivers. With Jamie and Mikael just outside the top 5 and Wietse and Dariusz at the back of the grid. But the race went better for 3 of the 4 drivers. Dariusz ran in some problems and need to retire after 30 laps. With Wietse climbing up to 13th. And Mikaell climbed to 4th and Jamie to 2th. Just behind his main competitor for the Championship.

Jamie is now second in the championship and Mikael 4th

Wietse is 19th and Dariusz 34th

But Pro TBR teams are still on top of the standings in the Team Championship. With 3th and 4th

Semi Pro

Kevin Ledoux and Ivo Simons both Qualified in the top 5 and took P2 and P3 in Q2.

Kevin had a good start and managed to get P1 in the first lap. Ivo got second after a couple of laps but got tapped a couple of laps later and got a Suspension problem and was back on the grid after his pit. Kevin managed to pull away from the P2 car and for the rest a lonley race. Ivo managed to climb back to 8th place. Still a good result for the 2 TBR drivers. Because the Number 3 in the standings. Had some technical diffulties and didnt managed to start the race.

Kevin is now 1st in the standings and Ivo 2th. The team championship is almost certain because there is a big gap to the second placed team.

RDHGP: Round 2 Knutstorp

By Ivo Simons on TBR|

Race with ups and downs for the TBR drivers

Andreas Loffler (Cortina) and David Cuthill (Abarth) had total opposite races.

Qualification went perfect for both of them. With Andreas on 3th and David on 6th.

Andreas managed to get P1 after a couple of laps and got away from P2 and had a lonely race after that and took the win. David had one a scary moment when his wheel didnt respond anymore after 11 laps and was forced to retire. Both have the pace of the front runners this season so its gonna be intresting. Only both had already races this season with some troubles. A DNF for Andreas in the first race and David now in the second. But the season is long so enough time to catch up.

Driver standings:

Andreas Loffler – P7

David Cuthill – P18

STC: Good race at Trois Riveres

By Ivo Simons on TBR|

STC is back after all the server problems. It was good day for the STC but also for The Black Rebels.

David Greco and Gregory Degreef  where the drivers this week. And got the maximum out of the Vette on this very narrow and more suited for small cars track.

Greco took unexpected pole while Gregory took 5th place. Greco controlled the first half of the race while closely followed by Haba on second.

Gregory ran in some little problems in the opening laps and dropped back to 12th.

In the pitstop window Greco’s pitstop took almost 10 second longer then Haba’s one. And lost first place.

Greg was nicely moving up the grid to 8th while managing his engine health because it was dropping massivly.

Greco was battleling heavily with number 3 who was on a 2 stop strategy and better tyres at the end. One lap before the finish he couldnt hold the place and dropped to 3th and finished there while Gregory climbed again one place and finished 7th.

So a very good result for the team. Wich gave us a more stable 3th place in the Team Championship.

Next races are on Donington, Spa, Le Mans and Daytona. So perfect tracks for the raw power of the Vette
