RaceDepartments Super Touring League got underway last Saturday and TBR have three teams entered in the series. Two in Division 1 and one in Division 2. Round one was held at the Chinese track of Zhuhai.

Andreas Löffler, Mikael Hellén in the Beemers races in D1 and got a good start to the season. Löffler qualied in 5th with a solid lap and finished the race in the same spot. He had an eventfull race with many hard fights but felt like he could have gotten on the podium if it weren’t for a couple of missfortunes during the race. Hellén finished 12 after starting from p10. He got spun around in the race and had to play catch up from 21st and last but still managed a good result.

In D2 the two Spaniards David García and Xosé Estrada had good results aswell with their SEATs. García qualifyed in 10th and made up one place during the race to finish 9th despite two spins. Estrada also took one place during the race after starting 15th to finish in 14th. According to the latter the SEAT didn’t have a chance against the Chevys and BMWs on the Zhuhai track.

The third team, icluding Ben Buitendijk and Mehmet Arslan, could not participate in this round.

Next round will be held September 19th in Barcelona.
