TBR 2009 FBMW Champ: Round 3

By Andreas Hultgren on TBR|

Anderstorp, Sweden, was the third stop in this years team championship calendar and just as last time there were both a snooze fest and a real nail biter of race. Only four rebels turned up, just as few as last time, and the first race were as exiting as watching a snow melt. Mikael Hellén clamied his third pole of the year and drove away to take a nother win. Behind him there were some hard driving but far from exiting as Wietse Visser and Andreas Hultgren were 2-4 seconds apart most of the race. Clive Siggs finished a lap down after a difficult race.

Race 1
Position/Name/Laps/Time/Points

1. Mikael Hellén 13L 20:30.167 10p
2. Wiestse Visser 13L +0:18.222 6p
3. Andreas Hultgren 13L +0:20.191 4p
4. Clive Siggs 12L +1 lap 3p

Race two on the other hand would bring some action to the event as the reversed grid made it’s usuall mix up in the feild. Siggs on Pole, would that be a sign of things to come? The answear was no and he retired after 3 laps. That left Hellén, Andreas and Visser to fight it out. Visser held the lead for over half the race with Hellén right behind him with a struggeling Hultgren trying to keep the same pace but still managed to hang on. Visser then made a little mistake and lost to third and then he made a couple of more mistakes and finally ended the race on lap 10. After the fight for first got settled Hultgren couldn’t keep up with Hellén that clamied the first double victory of the season and now has won 4 of the 6 races.

STC Round 3: GT Pro

By Andreas Hultgren on TBR|

The GT Pro race at Vallelunga was not hit points wise for the team but at least both cars finished the race. Wietse Visser and Andreas Hultgren were the drivers of the day for TBR and they put their Audis in 12th and 14th respectivly on the grid.

After a solid start fo the drivers where Andreas was running for 10th with Wieste some seconds behind the game had it’s own mind. Adnreas suffered a bug where one of his laps didn’t register and lost a lap after only 30 mins of driving. He did however finish the race afer trying to get the best out of the situation. He crossed the line in 14th at the end.

Wietse didn’r suffer from any bugs and finished the race in 10th after a pretty lonely race. This means that the team is still in 3rd in the standings but lost ground to the leaders whit FlatOut gaining on them from behind.

“The track was dry and the racing was great as the Pro class hit the tarmac of Vallelunga. The were an intense fight for first place through out the race between the GMT-DHR driver Jack Keithley and the Flat Out driver Mike Simian. Keithley made a late race move for first to score a victory for GMT-DHR.

If the fight for first was tough then the fight for 3rd was even tougher. Black Visor driver Tim Hogendoorn lost out after a race long battle with second GMT-DHR driver Teo Bubicic. That meant two GMT-DHR drivers on the podium and another splendid overall result for the team that is now closing in on RPM in the standings.

Hogendoorn lost to 7th in the end as Kevin Asher (RPM) finished 4th ahead of Gary Lennon (Black Visor) and Christopher Aponte (RPM).”
